Larawan by Amihan was born in July 2020 from a deeply personal conviction: that the most beautiful photographs are not the perfectly posed ones, but the ones that carry the weight of a real feeling. Amihan — the photographer behind the lens — started this journey in Malolos, Bulacan with a desire to document love in all its quiet, everyday forms.
The name itself holds meaning. "Larawan" means photograph or portrait in Filipino — an image, a reflection, a face held still. "Amihan" is the cool northeast monsoon breeze that sweeps the Philippines from October to February, carrying with it the scent of wet earth, cool morning light, and the particular feeling of beginnings. Together, they describe a photographer who captures moments with the gentleness of that breeze — softly, unhurriedly, and with full presence.
Amihan is a partner of Marekit Studios in Malolos, where studio sessions are held in a warm, comfortable environment purpose-built for families, children, and women who want professional portraits without the stiffness. She also travels to homes and outdoor locations — because the best light, she believes, is the light that already lives in your everyday world.
